Riviere is the solo project from Moose Jaw musician Matt Froese. A multi-instrumentalist and passionate singer/songwriter, Matt plays a brand of indie/folk that incorporates subtle fingerpicked acoustic guitars with electronic vibes. He live-loops sounds in real time to build layers of musical poetry as an accompaniment to his smooth vocals, creating a different musical adventure for each song.
His self-produced album, Trees, is now available, and some of these songs have also been featured on compilations, including the Middle of Nowhere Music's sampler, and the Distant Cousins Mixtape Vol. 1 . Besides his work as a solo artist, Matt has credits on recordings from Canadian singer/songwriters Jon Bryant, Kyle Church, Sykamore, Brother Mose, Robert Adam, and more. The multitude of bands he's played in over the years include Moose Jaw's Friend Friend (whose new album, 'Not Particularly Dignified or Newsworthy' is now available), Drake Mark, and Toronto's Old English. Collaborations expose Matt's extremely wide skill set and have him in high demand for creative endeavours on the prairie music scene. |
